Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She is employed by ESPN and is an SportsCenter anchor for news. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in securing her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was promoted to an reporter at The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. After 2009, the reporter moved to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. Covering stories on trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she was a reporter for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of news at 9 p.m. news in English and also another reporter for the at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. The family moved into Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She is the elder sibling of her parents. The family moved to Miami after moving to Mexico to the US. Soon after, her parents separated and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. In June of 2006, she took one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Still a senior at high school, but with a clear idea about what she wanted to pursue for her life, Antonietta visited the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her requirements. She discovered that she enjoyed the university, and the university offered the major she wanted. After high school, she graduated and began studying media at the university. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the manager at WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was an affiliate. He was the one who boosted her confidence and whose passion for Journalism deeply touched her. As a result, she determined to meet his demands and never let him down.
